Customer called about burnt up wires in the front second floor bedroom above the garage. Found all outlets were backstabbed and all switches were backstabbed and not grounded. Replaced all switches and outlets along that circuit. Grounded all switches on that circuit as well. Restored power and all working fine. Highly recommend replacing the rest of the switches and outlets throughout the home to avoid any further issues. Left options for replacing the original smoke detectors, performing a whole home redevice, installing AFCI breakers and installing a whole home surge protector.

Customer said that he is going to try to crawl around the attic and see if he sees a burnt wire still wants me to come out and give them options on replacing electrical panel and also repairing the circuit once he finds the issue. Coming back out next Friday. Calling back Monday.

The cameras will be plug-in type, and the customer does not want new outlets installed at the camera locations since they will be mounted high near the ceiling. The customer requested a solution and guidance on the best way to complete the installation. The proposed camera locations are the kitchen, the downstairs second living room, and the upstairs living room. All cameras will be installed directly above existing outlets. We will return to install brush plates to allow the USB-C cords to be fed down the wall and plugged into the outlets. This will apply to all three cameras. Performed minor troubleshooting and determined that the switch was not sending power to the switch leg when operated, indicating a faulty switch. Replaced the switch with a light almond single-pole switch. After replacement, the vanity light is operating properly. The customer was informed of the 5-year warranty covering parts and labor. Arrived on site and the customers reported that multiple lights throughout the home were flickering and dimming, especially when using appliances. Performed a minor troubleshoot by opening the main panel and meter base to check voltage and inspect the system. During the inspection, found that one of the feeder wires connected to the meter base on the low side was melted, showing signs of arcing and a poor connection. The other leg also showed early signs of the same issue. We will be returning on Wednesday to complete the following work: • Replace the 200-amp main electrical panel in the garage (includes a lifetime warranty) • Replace the exterior meter base (lifetime warranty included) • Install a new ground rod on the exterior of the home • Extend the cold-water bond from the panel to the main disconnect for proper grounding and code compliance • Pull a permit and complete all work required to pass city inspection • Install a whole-home surge protector rated for up to 108,000
